I received the May issue of ANTIC yesterday. As promised, I wanted to give a little information on the Rogue game that is included with this issue. I have already started to type it in. It will be a few days before I am actually able to give a first hand report. The article says you need a minimum of 48K to play the game. It looks like it keeps track of health, food, weapons, etc. There are several levels (the article doesn't say how many) and you can save a game. When you reload it, though, it is wiped out so you can't use it as the starting point for several games although I suppose you could copy the file to another name and back again. It saves high score and uses a redefined character set for the graphics. It is credited to Robert Jung and is supposedly up on his BBS for on-line game playing. If you want to try before you type, call (213)-732-0229. That is in southern CA. I will have the game up and running (barring any pesky bugs) in about a week and I'll report again. You use the keyboard only, no joystick. Single letters for commands and arrow keys for movement. If you are on CompuServe, ANTIC will probably make it available for downloading soon so you can save some typing effort. I'll try to review it completely enough to help you determine if it is worth the time and money to download it.
