While Omnicom is a better program, I've seen quite enough praise for it. I've been using VT-10^2 for some time now and I'd like to say try before you buy as vt10^2 works pretty well as a VT100 emulator for my uses. Before you ask, I have 7 computers, and thus anything that's plugged in is a canidate for calling to my Sun at work. As it happens, the most available machine in the house is my 800 XL (in an 80 column mode.) There are several phone lines, so it being close, and having _both_ a 1030 and an 850 interface (which competes for a 1200) I have all sorts of neat terminal progam choices. So far, that choice has been vt10^2. It's not perfect as an emulator (and that's being generous) in that it doesn't support line deletes and a couple other things, but for the bulk of vt100 work, including using vi to edit this message, it works just fine. Being available free on many BBSes (my Detroit node included) doesn't hurt, nor does the IBM PROFs emulation. (Though I never have occasion to use it, we did just get a 3090.) In fact, given the source code to vt10^2 I'd love the chance to add features and complete the emulation. I like the fact that it works with either the 850 or the 1030, but it doesn't work with SpartaDOS which is a moral sin. Just remember : SpartaDOS = good, anything else = evil. If anyone has the source to it, send it my way. This has NOTHING to do with CDY. I certainly want Dave to do business (hell OMNIMON should be in EVERY Atari!) but there's no reason that Atari's, with their LONG history (at this point) of technically oriented programmers, can't have the fine public domain software that you see on IBM's. Some of it is there - Express, Speedscript, DVC/65 C compiler, so lets help it along.
