I just wanted to mention that David Bowie has made the cover of Time this week. Pretty impressive. I only have one complaint, I wish he could have all this sucess without having gotten so popular, so that people who've liked him all along (like me) wouldn't have such a hard time getting to see him. Actually, I shouldn't complain since its nice to have Bowie to listen to (I think he had retired brfore Lodger came out). As far as heroes go ... I wasn't talking about the song, I was referring to musical heroes. For a while there, music hit a low point and I was wondering if it'd ever recover (thanks God for New Wave). I think the music scene is again lively, and it is nice to have musical heroes. My three main heroes are: Peter Gabriel, David Bowie and Sting. Also, not quite on the same category but close, is Stevie Nicks. Let's hear who are other netters' heroes. I have also been wondering (after following the "American Pie" discussion) if people on net.land would be interested in discussing songs (their meaning, message, cultural value, etc.). I used to (and still do) have discussions about songs which were quite enjoyable and many times enlightening. So comon folks, lets talk music. Dan Vanevic inuxe!rael P.S.: Would anyone care to discuss "Supper's Ready" ?
