A friend out here, Eric Johansson, has recently released a preliminary version of his Forth Target Compiler for the Atari 8-bitters. As I understand it, this compiler conforms pretty much to FIGFORTH except that it has extensions to let you load the source from a file, save the compiled code to a file, and I believe, do file I/O from within the executing program.
