re: PD wordprocessors for Atari: Textpro is another PD wordprocessor based on the Speedscript program someone already mentionned. Textpro has some features that no other Atari text processor has. I am not intimately familiar with it yet, but it has a keyboard macro feature, so that strings of keystrokes INCLUDING EDITOR COMMANDS can be assigned to single keys. That can be a very powerful feature. There is a version that allows room for modem handlers so it can be run while a modem is active. And it features an exit to DOS for users of command line DOS's. Speedscript itself has a good point that should be mentionned: it has a uniquely legible text, using the special Antic mode 6 (I think), with an exceptionally clear character set. It is the easiest on the eyes of all Atari 8bit word processors in my opinion -- not bad at all, for limited word processor use.
