I think stereo is even | possible. It is possible and quite impressive. I have a PD program that plays one channel through the 800's speaker and the other channel through the TV speaker. This isn't multiplexed stereo, of course, and will not play correctly on the newer XL/XE line of 8bit computers because they do not have built-in speakers. I have seen plans that make adding a built-in speaker seem pretty easy, but I suspect a stand-alone separate box would be the easiest way to add a speaker.
