Greg: The digitizing sound article appeared in the July 1983 issue (Vol. 4, No.2) of ANTIC. The author was Ed. Stewart, and the title was "Talk Is Cheap". Also in that issue was a second article by Ed. Stewart titled "Hokey Pokey Interrupts" --- another useful article. Unfortunately, in true vintage ANTIC style, the program listing for the audio digitizing article somehow got lost and was belatedly printed in the August 1983 issue of ANTIC! Bye the bye, if you want to fiddle with an external A to D chip, then a simple low-cost option is the Texas Instrument TLC548, sold by Radio Shack for $3.99 (sale price) under their catalog no. 276-1796. This chip needs three lines from the controller port (to trigger the chip, to clock the data out, and a data out line for the serial output), plus 5 volts and ground, also stolen from the controller port. For SLLOWW conversions, you can control the chip from BASIC; for fast conversions, you'll need to write a short assembly routine. Bob Nash Xerox Corp Webster, NY 14580
