Well, anyone can make a mistake. Since I don't own the operating system manual, I was unaware of the exception to the rule. My main sources of info at the moment are "Your Atari Computer" and "Mapping the Atari". Can anyone suggest any other good references and where to find them? We don't have much in the way of local vendor support (nearest Atari 8-bit dealer is some 40mi). Thanx. Gary Duzan Time Lord Third Regeneration Atari Enthusiast Extreme

The very best source of info on the Atari 8-bit systems is the "Atari Technical Users Notes"... it covers both the hardware and the O.S. software, including source code..! It was originally published by Atari, and may still be available from a few sources... try calling Best Electronics. BobR

Ok, for sources of documentation etc try B&C Computervisions, American Techna-Vision, or Atari itself. For other docs try: De Re Atari, Inside Atari Dos, and The Atari Basic Source Book. There is also a couple of OS listings but you need to ask Atari if they sell them.

There's also COMPUTE!'s Mapping The Atari, several editions in fact; and I have a set of OS listings from a couple of years ago so they were at least available at ONE time... I've found that "Inside Atari DOS" is virtually impossible to find unless you can convince someone to part with their copy; I've been waiting a while now (Hi Brett) to receive a copy on that basis myself...
