I recently have run into a problem, after not using my old upgraded 400 for a few months. I tried to write a program in BASIC on the old standard BASIC CARTRIDGE. BUT! If I put a statement requiring any mathematics at all, the program freezes up. SO what I was wondering is if anyone else had this problem, and if so how did they fix it. My guess is that the EPROM's on the cartridge have some how been altered. Thus a possible fix would be to re-burn them. (Or just buy a new cartridge) Now Problem #2. A few years ago, I got a good deal on a touch tablet for the atari. It is one made by CHALKBOARD INC., I have one software cartridge for it and wish I could develope some more. (The name of this tablet is the Power Pad.) Of course the company folded, leaving me with no one to contact. If anyone has an idea of how the thing might work, or who to contact about it, I would appreciate some mail. Greg Berry ( University of Illinois )

Re: The touch tablet and how to use it: If this is at all like the Koala Pad, then it is read just like the paddles (i.e. one paddle corresponds to the x-direction and the other corresponds to the y direction, the left button is one paddle buttonm and the right button is (obviously) the other. If your touchpad plugs into the joystick/paddle I/O db9 connector, then it most likely works this way. Try reading it like a paddle and see. Good luck! (A Fellow U of Illinois Atarian)
