I dont think this is possible, as 1200 baud modems thru joystick ports rarely work. I had a joystick port modem and the max I could get out of it was about 750bps. If you wanted to built such a thing, it would have to use the standard I/O connecter as the 850 does to keep up with a 1200 baud and definetly with a 2400 baud modem. I would be interested in knowing what you find out however, as I would like to get some recent software for my 8bit, as I dragged it outta the closet a few months ago and realized the newest stuff I had was over 5 years old.
