[comp.sys.atari.8bit] The SX212 and Kermit65

cs1551cu@hydra.unm.edu ( Marc Bluefire) (04/25/89)

Well, I've downloaded Kermit65 from score.stanford.edu,
uudecoded it, and unarced it...
Well....it's not working once I go into the terminal mode...
I have an SX212 modem with SIO connection to my Atari 130XE, and I have
what I thought was the R: handler from the SX212 Companion! for working
with the 850 EXPRESS terminal program, but it didn't work.
So, I went over to my local Atari dealer (Plaza Computers) and we
tried using the P:R: Connect as the go-between...we tried all sorts of
combinations to make it work, from using the KERMIT.COM with
the PRC.SYS file (which is supposed to make any program for the 850 work
on the P:R: Connect) to using the KERMITNR.COM with any handler, including
the SX212A file (found with the SX212 Companion), we did get some response
from the terminal when we used plain atari (none) emulation, but
it was only error messages and the cursor appearing and dissapearing..
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?
Also, if someone has a true or better R: handler for the SX212, I would
love to know who you are.. I would appreciate ANY thoughts or help
on this, as I NEED a vt100 emulator real bad!! BTW, I got the vt10sqr
emulator to talk to the modem, but it just takes the first input
and repeats it for ever...

Thanks a lot,
