[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Need mail order info

alaa@pedsga.UUCP (Alaa Zeineldine) (05/17/89)

I need some maths/educational software for my son's Atari XE,
does anyone know of mail order magazines/catlogues that carry this stuff.
I also need a backpup storage device. What do I need to connect a cassette
player to this system, and would any cassete player do or would I need a
special one?

Appreciate your help.

Look at the ads in magazines like Analog Computing, Antic, and Atari
Explorer. (One or more of these are usually available in some
bookstores.) I know there is some educational s/w out there (although
I don't know specifics) and at least some of it must be available by
mail order. Also, is there an Atari user's group in your area? If
so, check with those people.

Given that you will be buying software for your son's XE, you would be
better off with a disk drive than a cassette. There is relatively
little s/w available on cassette anymore. Also, cassettes are slow
and not as reliable.

Pick up any issue of an 8-bit mag. (Antic, etc) and you will find lots of mail
