On a topic related to the recent 800 video output discussion: Has anyone out there tried to hook up their Atari to a TV or VCR with "S-video" inputs? Since the Atari has separate luma (Y) and chroma (C) outputs, and the S-video input is nothing more than separate luma and chroma in a tiny DIN-type jack, it seems like it should be possible to run the output of my 800XL into the S-video inputs on my S-VHS deck and get better quality pictures. If anyone has tried this, I'd like to hear about your experiences. Earlier someone mentioned that a hardware mod was required in order to get the separate luma/chroma outputs to actually appear on the 800XL's video output jack (unlike the original 800, which supplied these signals in the standard configuration). Can some kind sould out there post or email the details of this modification? I would like to experiment with the separate Y/C output. Thanks in advance to all who can help.
