[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Atari disk info

alaa@darwish..westford.ccur.com (Alaa Zeineldine) (03/13/90)

I needed to get a disk drive for my son's Atari/XE game system,
so I called IB Computers (a mail order store) to ask about what they have.
They told me that the best buy for an XE would be an Atari Zone drive
for 199.95.

Can anyone tell me whether this is true, or tell me of their own
recommendation. I can also use info about required memory and useful
software, etc.

Thanks in advance.

That price is a joke... You can buy a new Atari 1050 for around $1oo if
you find one (99.9% of all software runs on it) or a new XF551 for about
$150... Last time I looked (6 months?) they were both availible at L&Y
