[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Hot new titles for YOU Atari 8-bit!

usenet@cps3xx.UUCP (Usenet file owner) (03/19/90)

In the following two messages I am posting two really hot binaries off
of my Detroit BBS, The Club II. If you have trouble uudecoding,
de-arcing and un-diskcompressing these, then you can pick them up (and
the requisite utilities) on The Club II at (313) 334-8877 3/12/2400

The first file is ZYBEX - which might be described as "R-Type for the
8-bit." Using GTIA graphics, this game is GREAT! Tremendous! Flush that
ST or Nitendo. I've picked up at least 5 different weapons.

ZYBEX.UUE is a uuencoded, arc'd file with the documentation AND a .DCM
file - The .DCM file is a DISKCOMM file. To get this you need to
trim the header off, uudecode to get the arc file, then (on your Atari)
de-arc and then diskcomm the ZYBEX.DCM file onto a full disk. (formatted blnk)
You'll need ARC for the 8-bit, Bob Puff's Super UnArc is reccomended.
You'll also need DISKCOMM, Bob's Diskcomm 3.2 is likewise reccomended.

The second file is TETRIX - an Atari 8-bit implementation of a current
popular game Nitendo claims to own. If you like Tetris, you'll like
Tetrix. If you haven't played Tetris - play it a while, give it a
chance. It grows on you - like a socialist wart!

TETRIX.UUE is a uuencoded, arc'd file containing the documentation, the
TETRIX.OBJ file, and something else (high scores?) You need to trim
the file, feed it to uudecode, and then de-arc it ON YOUR 8-bit.

Both of these files are new pd/shareware releases for the 8-bit and
they're IM-PRES-IVE. Be sure to send them what you can to help support
stuff like this. ZYBEX is just incredible. Excuse me, I have to get back
to ruining my hands now.

(As an aside, if you haven't used Bob Puff utilities like Super
Arc/UnArc and Diskcomm, you're in for a shock too. TOP quality
programming. Support your 8-bit authors.)
