|Howdy, I don't usually read this group but today I did and I may be of help!
|
|In short I designed/built my own 2600 development system (around a 1040ST).
|It uses 8K of RAM (Maximum of 4K for cart code... No provisions for bank
|switching), or an 8K EEPROM. Graphics editing and disassembly is done on the
|ST (a friend of mine wrote a 6502 assembler which I need to add in).
|
|I just recently got the Developers Documentation for the VCS so I haven't
|tried to program anything... yet. It looks like a real pain actually.
|
|If anyone wants to chat about VCS stuff, send me E-mail at:

Where did you get the VCS Dev Docs from?

During the first few months of 1989 three or four messages were posted to
alt.sources concerning programming one of the Atari game systems. I was
trying to retrieve them to repost when my machine crashed. The machine
is still trashed, but if you are interested in getting copies of these
messages send a message to me, by replying to this message, with a Subject
of "ATARI" and i will send them to you when i dig them off of the tapes.
