Hi, I'm working on an ST - 800XL 6502 cross development system and, for code downloading and remote debugging I have come up with 2 alternatives: 1. Rig some hardware between the 800 and ST cartridge ports (you can write to the ST port if you cheat. 2. Use RS232. The RS232 idea seems to be the easiest so now I'm looking for info on the RS232 interface (850?). 1. Can the 850 do 19200 baud? 2. Can it be programmed EASILY without using the OS (I *don't* know how to use the SIO 'cos I never managed to get my hands on the docs. Now, if someone could give me info on programming the SIO I'd appreciate it! Finally, for UK readers only, does anyone know how much 850s sell for nowadays (new or second hand). Thanks, Dave. PS. If 850 is the wrong part number, you'll understand! -- % cc life.c | David Clear <dac@ukc.ac.ukc> % a.out | Local Area Networks, Computing Laboratory, Segmentation fault (core dumped) | University of Kent, Canterbury, England.
