A couple months ago I was playing around with Action! trying to write a term program, and I encountered a very strange problem. First of all, my program was simple in the extreme - it only has the very basic I/O necessary for functioning. Here is what the problem was then: I was trying to run the program at 1200bps, and this seemed to work okay - until I hit the 'A' key (to enter a modem command) at which point it would drop down to 300bps. What is even stranger is that I could call out at 300bps. You see, I have a 1 Meg MIO, and am using the RS-232 interface to connect to my SX212 modem. With most term programs, if I try to run at 300bps, the program will dial, and then get a 'fake carrier' which causes it to connect. The 'fake carrier' immediately disappears after the 'CONNECT' message, and I get the 'NO CARRIER' message. So I never call anywhere at 300bps. No loss. I recently acquired the VT52A.ACT program (from some remote site, I don't know which one, I recently moved, and my list is packed away) and it has the same problem as my 'home-brewed' term program. BobTerm 1.20 (and the old 1.10), 850 Express! and VT-10^2 all work just fine. So does _anyone_ know what the h*ll is going on? Jeff
