I received and installed a Happy 1050 enhancement board last week, and I'm really pleased with it. I know there's been a lot of chatter about using a PC to r/w Atari 8-bit disks, so many people should be interested in knowing that the Happy software includes a program that allows you to r/w PC disks ON YOUR 1050 (you need the Happy board though). The utility works extremely well, and I've been using it to transfer a lot of stuff (text and binaries). As an extra bonus, the board also speeds up disk accesses by a noticeable amount, and provides double-density. Oh-- it also lets you copy almost anything if you still haven't outgrown your piracy stage yet. The Happy board costs about $110 US (including shipping), which is rather pricey. I have found it worthwhile, and I'm glad I invested in it. Note: this is not intended to be any sort of advertisement for Happy Computers. In fact, I really think they should be shot for their refusal to release technical info about their 1050 enhancement. However, I thought that people should at least be made aware of the board's usefulness. -Roy.
