[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Titling Software for the 8bits?

scott@blueeyes.kines.uiuc.edu (scott) (11/12/90)

Hello, die-hard 8-bitters!

Does anyone out there have any titling software which will run on an 800XL?
I'd like to use my 8-bit to generate some snazzy graphic titles to jazz up
my home video movies. I've done some simple things both in BASIC and in Ace
C, but I'm sure someone out there has something much more interesting. I've
also heard tell of commercial titling packages, but where I live no stores
will stock 8-bit Atari titles, so I can't just walk out and buy one, either.

If you have such an animal, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Please email me
at the address below. Thanks!

The program that you want is available from American Techna-Vision in
California. The program is from Datasoft and is called "Video Titleshop".

They are selling the program and 2 companion disks for $14.95 + $4 S&H.
They have a toll free order number (1-800-551-9995). Credit card use
is restricted to orders of $18.50 or more. Not sure if that includes
S&H or not. You could also have them ship it COD. You pay when it
is delivered, so someone has to be home during the day or you will have
go pick it up yourself somewhere. COD orders are cash only and that
adds another $3.30 to the cost. Still for a total for $21.80 you get
a program that originally sold for $39.95 if I remember correctly and
get two disk of whatever free with it.

Note: This is not an endorsement of the product since I have never used
it or seen it used. I do remember reading a favorable review a couple
or years ago. Anyone else actually used it?
