I have been browsing this group for a while, and I'm starting to get interested in an 8-bit machine for games. I currently have a Mega ST2 that I use for MIDI and applications, but I know next to nothing about 8-bit machines. I have read about an 8-bit emulator for the ST, but I don't have much information about it. So... 1. Is the Xformer emulator a satisfactory replacement for a real 800? If so, what sort of hardware do I need to read 8-bit disks? Can the emulator read 8-bit cartridges via the ST cartidge port? Is there a list of games that will run on it? 2. If the Xformer is not satisfactory, what is the minimum (read "cheapest") 8-bit configuration suitable for game playing? Does it have a built-in disk drive? Can I use my ST color monitor or my TV with it? Please excuse my 8-bit ignorance, but there doesn't seem to be much information around here. Thanks, Jonathan *********************************|||********************************** Jonathan Whitcomb ||| UUCP: <...!mcnc!aurgate!whitcomb> (919) 850-6231 / | \ Raleigh, NC / | \ ******Save the ST!!!******
