RE : Synapse Does anyone know what happened to this company as they produced some great games like BLUE MAX, RAINBOW WALKER, NECROMANCER & ALLEY KAT. I heard that they run out of money because they were doing a project for Atari and atari never paid them. In the UK thier software was sold under the Synsoft label because of a company in the UK called synapse which sold business software. I have several other synapse games and would like to know what other games they have written. Also does anyone know if Ozark softscape (I think) still produce software as I have MULE and SEVEN CITIES OF GOLD by them which are both brillant. Paul. dh125@uk.ac.city.cs

I don't know what happened to Synapse, but I'm sure they are no longer in business. I haven't seen their name for years. As to MULE, Seven Cities of Gold and many others, they are done here in the States by Electronic Arts. EA is very much alive (last I heard anyway) and most of their items are still available. They have dropped (all?) support for the Atari 8bit though, so you will only find software for us through some of the companies that advertize in American Atari magazines, such as STart. Best, American TechnaVision and B&C Computers come to mind as the best bet here in the US. Kit Kimes AT&T Bell Labs Naperville, IL ...!att!iwtsa!kimes

EA marketed and handled the distribution of these games. One of my friends, (from Little Rock, AR, where the authors are from) knew the developers and he says they are still around. What they are doing now is a mystery to him, though. > Kit Kimes -- __ Brett Bourbin \ / /(_ /\/ 11440 Commerce Park Drive ..!uunet!visix!brett \/ / __)/ /\ Reston, Virginia 22091 brett@visix.com Software Inc (703) 758-2733
