[comp.sys.atari.8bit] Atari 8-bit System for sale

ajy2208@ultb.UUCP (A.J. Yarusso) (03/16/89)

I've got the following system for sale due to the fact that I need money
for school. I would like to sell the system as a whole, as it might take
me a while to sell the entire system as individual pieces. Anyway,
everything works really well together! Here's the system:

      Items
      ==============================================
Atari 130XE Computer, 128K RAM & Rev. C BASIC built in
      ICD Multi Input/Output board
          - RS232 (modem) port
          - Centronics (printer) port
          - SCSI/SASI (hard drive) port
          - Firmware, and Printer Spooler
          - 1 MEG RAM (fantastic Ramdisk!!!)
XE Adaptor for MIO (necessary to use MIO with XE)
Adaptec 4000A Hard Drive Controller Card
Seagate ST225 20 Meg hard drive
      Microscience 20 Meg hard drive
Indus GT Double Density disk drive
Atari 1050 w/US Doubler (Double Density)
XEP80 80 column board (also has printer port)
      R-Time 8 battery clock cartridge
      SpartaDOS X Cartridge
      Assembler Editor Cart
PC Power supply (150 watts) for the 2 hard drives & Adaptec
XT Case (two hard drives, Adaptec, MIO, & Power supply all fit here!)
Magnavox 80 column Monochrome Monitor (works great with XEP80)
100 Disks in 3 Alsop disk cases (including)
          Hacker
          Archon II: Adept
          Omnitrend's Universe
          Alternate Reality: The Dungeon
          Spy Vs. Spy
          Carina II BBS Software
20 Original Antic disks, in 2 plastic disk cases
Cables (HD cables, RS232 [modem] cable, etc.)
      Power Strip
      ==================================================

I am willing to part with this system for a mere $1500. A lot of my time
and money (well over $2000) went into putting this system together.
The hard drives and the 1 MEG MIO board alone would cost nearly $1000 today
new! (each drive is roughly $200, and ICD sells the MIO for $450)

I've got all the cables and power supplies needed to hook everything
together. The two hard drives have a TON of PD software on them, as I
used to run a Bulletin Board System. I also have a lot of original
software on the 100 or so disks mentioned above.

If you are looking to run a BBS, this is a great way to start.
I ran Carina II and in my opinion it is better than any ST BBS
software that has come out yet (including FoReM).

With a second monitor (or b/w TV) you can generate two entirely different
displays by using the XEP80 and SpartaDOS X. I'll be glad to assist
the person who purchases the system in setting it up, and if he/she is
local, can do so in person. If you're not local to me, I'm going to have
fun mailing all this!!

Please contact me at 716-475-4088 weeknights or weekends if you are
interested in purchasing this system. Or, you can reach me at:

All equipment is in perfect working order and has only light use on it.
The system has been in storage for 3 or 4 years (since I got my Laser 128).
I have manuals for everything (hardware and programs), and all programs are
originals. I have original boxes and packing for the disk drives and
printer. This system cost almost $2000 when it was purchased (mid 1980s),
and that was shopping around for the best deals on each piece. I am asking
$500, and I will pay shipping in the 48 states for this price. However, I
have been out of the Atari scene for quite a while, so I am willing to
listen to whatever deals you may offer.

This system GOES AS A COMPLETE PACKAGE (the Atari 400 and 1010 could be
sold separately or left out of the package).
