I had to perform repairs on my aging 800XL last night, which involved
replacing the OS ROM with one from a very early production version 800XL
I obtained for spare parts value (lots of "Rev A"'s all over the inside
of the case and motherboard).
Anybody know if the OS ROM has different versions, just like the ill-fated
BASIC "A/B/C" ROM series? If so, are any of them buggy?
Oh, and if anyone wants to give me tips on desoldering IC's from an unsocketed
motherboard, feel free :-)
