Hello, I'm back. Anyway, I have an XEP80 and finally a modem, and would like to use them as a dumb terminal like VT100 or anything else that might work. Any suggestions? BTW, I will soon be posting my emacs-like text editor using the XEP80 if there is any interest. Please ack me via private mail. Also - Has anyone ever build a serial bus device? I want to build a ramdisk on the serial bus and would prefer to steal existing stuff rather than reinvent the wheel. (My stupid 65XE doesn't have a parallel port.) -Stan

Kermit-65 comes close; it runs on the XEP80, but there are a few quirks when doing VT100-type things on the right have of the screen. So here again is my plea: Could some programmer out there fix K-65 so it works right on the XEP80? I doubt it will take much work; the problems seem relatively small. I don't even think you really need an XEP80 to do it, since the XEP80 acts quite predictably as an 80-column E: device. K-65 just needs to be taught more thoroughly that lines are 80 columns long intead of 40. The source code is available. > BTW, I will soon be posting my emacs-like text editor using the XEP80 > if there is any interest. Please ack me via private mail. As long as I'm posting, yes, please post! Michael currentm@carleton.edu
