[comp.sys.atari.8bit] XLs that almost were

mfolivo@sactoh0.sac.ca.us (Mark Newton John) (05/03/91)

Boy, haven't talked about these in a long time...

The 1400XL had the voice synthesis and built in modem of the better
known XLD, but not the built in drives.

The 1600XL, if I remember correctly, would have been a CP/M
machine.

Other vaporware/unreleased 8 bit stuff:

1090 Expansion Box. Lets you plug in various boards, such as CP/M.
Last heard as a doorstop at Antic Magazine. (really!)

A Portable 65XE with built in 5" monitor.

Color and black and white thermal printers.

A music based XE.

If anyone needs the model numbers, I can dig them up.

A music-based XE? What was this supposed to be?
