[comp.sys.m68k] What happens if I do a lot of moves to ss

tim@ism780c.UUCP (11/22/86)

Suppose I have a 64k code segment, which contains the instruction

mov ss,something / Intel operand ordering

repeated enough times to fill the segment. If I start executing in
this segment on a 286 in protected mode ( or a 386, using a 286 code
segment ), what happens?

I was going to determine this by experiment, but ld on the pc6300+
won't let me have a 64k code segment. grrrrrrrr.

Oops! I didn't notice that that was cross-posted to comp.sys.m68k!
Sorry about that. I decided to post that article while reading
news, so I picked a random article in comp.sys.intel and submitted
a followup, changing the subject and reference lines. By chance I
picked one of the Motorola vs. Intel postings, and didn't notice
until it was too late. As punishment, I am going to force myself
to write a 6502 emulator in 1802 machine code! :-)
