[comp.sys.m68k] Free Access OS-9 68K

jimomura@lsuc.UUCP (07/24/87)

I've had my system QT-20X system for a few months now and I still
have a lot of work to do porting software. So far I haven't had much
luck finding anyone who wants to help out. If you want to take a look
around on my computer, I'm currently allowing access on my spare line
as follows:

(416) 652-3480
Connect is 1200 baud only
(Sometimes by special request I set it up at 300 baud only--there is
no automatic speed detection however, so it's either one or the other).

login: guest
(no password).

All proprietary or private files are protected, so feel free to wander
around at will. The general purpose text editor is MicroEMACS (Conway/
Lawrence) which is called 'umacs'. There is a 'build' command for
creation of text files without editing. There is also MicroGNU Emacs
as 'mg'. The default terminal support is VT-100. There is no 'man'
and *very little online help*.

Note that if you leave me a phone number (either by e-mail or on
my answering machine or on the computer) I'll try to return calls to
answer questions and discuss further access.

I'm currently working on a port of 'elm2' which is taking a fair
bit of time. I could use advice from someone familiar with Unix (since
the biggest problem I have is finding out what's happening in Unix calls
that I don't know) or a hot C expert. If you have previous experience
in OS-9 that might help too, but it's probably not necessary.

Cheers! -- Jim O.
