Hi. I'm trying to find the MC68881 User's Manual (or whatever it's called.) The bookstores in town say it doesn't exist. (After all, it doesn't appear in their "Books in Print".) I thought about calling Motorola here in Austin, but a friend tried that once and he wasn't too successful. I may write them (and Prentice-Hall) to see if that works. If information has been published about the 68881, could somebody send me the relevant information (title, ISBN, etc.)? If information about it is only available from Motorola, could somebody tell me about that? (e.g., how do I get it?) Thanks. Brian H. Sitting here in front of me is my "MC68881 Floating-Point Coprocessor User's Manual" I obtained it by asking my Motorola rep. Sorry I don't have a part number or something like that. Lee Darrow Hewlett Packard Lake Stevens Instrument Division

Thanks to all the people who suggested I contact Motorola. That did the trick. (Actually, Motorola called me. A couple of people separately called me to offer assistance. I was _very_ impressed by that. A company that cares.) So, if you need to get a manual for Motorola equipment, you can call a Motorola sales office, and they can get it for you. Prentice-Hall is just an additional (and more expensive, and less complete) resource. Thanks again to Motorola, and to all the people who replied to my message. Brian H. Here is the Motorola MC68881 manual title and part number: "MC68881 Floating-Point Coprocessor User's Manual" MC68881UM/AD You might try calling your Motorola rep, as they are usually helpful if you can get them to write down the correct part number. I once called for info on the 68881 and got a reference for the 68681 dual uart. -- Craig Ruff {hao, nbires}!isis!ssds!craig
