I have question about using 6800 family peripheral chips with a 68000. First of all, all I presently have for a data book is a rather skimpy 68000 data book put out by a publisher independent from Motorola, and a few randomly photocopied pages from the Motorola data book. I think I understand how the control lines are used to access 6800 chips, but my question is that when 68000 conforms its bus to the synchronous bus of the 6800, is it limited to byte transfers. Specifically, I'd like to hook 2 6821s at an even and odd address so that I can read and program them together with a word transfer. Is this possible?
