[comp.sys.m68k] 68020 in a 68000 socket

csantiag@potpourri.UUCP (Carlos Santiago) (05/26/88)

     I am trying to interface a 68020 and a 68881 into the 68000 socket
of my AMIGA 500. I need to find some information on this subject, can
someone post any references to magazine articles or books on this topic?
                                            Thanks

Motorola did publish some notes on this, and there were another set of notes
published in one of the EE type freebie magazines, I think ESD, a year or
two back. They didn't really tell the whole story, though, especially in
relation to the way an Amiga 500 works.

HOWEVER, you're in luck if you can get hold of the latest issue of the
Amiga Transactor (I think it's Vol I, Num 3, not quite out yet). There's
an article on building just such a board for an A1000, and they place the
design in the Public Domain. They'll also ship you certain parts for it
if you're interested. I haven't seen the article yet, though I did speak
with one of the people involved about a month ago, and it sounds like a
very good place to start, even if you're interested in doing your own
design.
