[comp.sys.m68k] info on CODATA systems wanted

tgp@sei.cmu.edu (Tod Pike) (09/15/88)

I was recently loaned a CODATA 3300 system, which
is apparently a 68000 workstation. It currently does
not work very well, and I was wondering if anyone on the
net has any experience with this system. It supposedly
runs a version of V7 Unix called UNISYS.

Anyway, if anyone wants to exchange some information
about CODATA systems, or can tell me if the company
(Contel CODATA, formally in Sunnyvale, CA) still exists,
please mail me. If there is interest, I will summarize
to the net. I and my system thank you.

CODATA was bought up by someone or other; I can't recall the name.
Anyway, they're out of business, so if your problem is a hardware
problem, you're most likely out of luck.

The software is UniPlus+, which is a product of UniSoft, who is
very much in business. Their corporate headquarters are now in
Emeryville, CA. The V7 Unix on your CODATA box is way out of date now;
UniSoft's product now is System V, with many BSD enhancements.
If your problem is a software problem, you may be able to get
some help from UniSoft.

Hope this helps.
