I'm trying to bring up a Motorola Computer System 8000 68020 Unix box
and things aren't going too well. Does anybody know anything about
these things?
The OS claims to be "SYSTEM V/68 M68020 Version R2V2.2". It seems to
be a mostly vanilla System V.2 Unix. It has an old version of UUCP
(pre dialinfo). The box has 16 serial ports. It doesn't appear to
have any support for a shared line (incoming getty and outgoing uucico
on the same modem).
I'm looking for anybody that uses one of these boxes with UUCP. I'd
like to know what configuration you have that works. I can't seem to
get the darned thing to work with modems and Motorola Inc. is completely
useless. Nobody there seems to even know what their own computer is,
leave alone what UUCP is.
