I think the original poster (jkg@prism.gatech.edu) is going to post a summary once he makes his decision, so you might want to follow those groups. He is designing a 68008 based system. One question you may wish to resolve before you make your selection of a controller is whether your design will have a separate DMA controller. Another question is do you intend to be doing any other work when the disk is seeking, or whatever. It's hard to get more specific without knowing answers to stuff like the above.
