I'm running V6 UNIX(tm) on an 11/23 (18 address bit bus). I'm asking for some advice about enlarging this system to accommodate more users. 1. I've heard a rumor that the 11/23 CPU can be speeded up by simply replacing the crystal. Has anyone REALLY done this? What speed crystal is appropriate? Where can I get it? 2. I'm currently using an 8Mb Shugart 1004 Winchester disk. I'd like to go to something larger and faster. Can anyone give me recommendations? This will be the only disk on the system - responsible for both file storage and swapping. 3. Anybody out there running 2.9BSD on an 11/23? How well does it work (measured however you'd like!!)? -- Ralph Droms Computer Science Department The Pennsylvania State University
