Hello world, Short introduction: We (Michael Diebold, Thomas Hildmann, Oliver Brandmueller) decided to develope a computer two years ago. It should be an 680x0-based machine that should be very simple to configure for the application one would use it. So we put some cards (CPU, Memory, CIAs, serial device...) onto a bus. This took us some time (and money [we three scholars]). But some months ago it was ready and we won a competition ("Jugend Forscht") for our city (Berlin/Germany) and go now to the competition of the best from whole germany. As application on our computer we wrote a program, that did some output to a VT100 Terminal while controlling a roboter and showing the the movement-commands on a LCD. If a printer was connected it did some output there, too. But this was a bit buggy at all and sometimes crashed. For the next competition (in May) we planned to write an operating system for our "baby". It shouldn't multitask or something like that, but we want to have some typical OS-Routines, especially Input-/Output- functions but initialization and error-checking also. Maybe a automatic system-setup, but we are not sure about that (is a bit complicated on the actual bus-structure I think...). Now we need the help of some m68k-freaks, who are willing to check and improve our code or to answer some questions about critical subroutines and so on. Everybody out there, who is interested in helping us should reply now! Thanx, Olli PS: Please reply - some troubles with the new Cnews of our news-feed cause the loss of every news-article, which has no *absolute* RFC-1036-conform-header! So I'm not sure, if every posting is reaching us! -- *-----------------------------------------------------------------* /ob@obh.in-berlin.de (Oliver Brandmueller) /bbs:+49 30/853 65 44/ /Detmolder Str. 64a - Tel.: +49 30 853 69 80 / write 'n enjoy! / *-----------------------------------------------------------------*
