Help! I have a transistor, possibly GASFET, in a macro-x case (tiny black disk with four radial leads). On one side it has white ink covering half of the surface in a 1/2 moon pattern. On the other side it has the following numbers (and no logo) ... E4Y 2369 If anyone out there has any idea what this crosses to, I'd really appreciate the info. Thanks! Gary (allegra,ihnp4,hplabs,sun,glacier)oliveb!oliven!gnome PS- I've looked in Motorola, RCA, and SGS data books for a cross but to no avail.

You may be hosed. How old is this thing? The "2369" part would strike me as a date code, if it weren't for the fact that 1969 WAS some time ago. If this is a datecode or other non-type-number kind of marking, you have my deepest condolences. In other words, good luck. I've been there, it's no fun. Have you tried the D.A.T.A. books, or some similar? Bob M.

Try 2N2369. A fast switching NPN. It has a Toff that's about as low as it gets in silicon. I once used them as VHF relaxation oscillators in a telem- etry role. I know that they come in the micro package. Bob Philbin Wisconsin Primate Center
