We are looking for a screen editor for word processing users which will: -- allow multiple files to be displayed via windows. -- use labeled terminal function keys for command input. -- support a variety of terminals, on several different mainframes, under various versions of UN*X. -- provide word-wrap, margins, setable tabs, area delete and insert, etc. -- provide full source code. Of particular interest is information regarding the RAND editor or editors similar to Interactive System's INed. thanks, csu-cs!zach

What you want is the Quadratron Systems Word Processor. It has ALL of the features you asked for and much more, in addition to a subset of it being compatible with Wang Word processors. It is terminal independant, keyboard independent, and language independent. In fact, a version is in the works which will support intermixed hebrew and english text (this obviously would require appropriate character generators in your terminal). It currently runs under Berkely Unix on a 68000, System V on a Vax, and system III on some other 68000 and Z8000 based machines. Their address is: Quadratron Systems Inc. 15760 Ventura Blvd Suite 1032 Encino, California 91436 (213) 789-8588
