[sci.electronics] Sinclair TV troubles?

cgs@umd5.umd.edu (Chris Sylvain) (07/28/87)

This is in response to a couple of postings I saw recently from two individuals
who want to know who to contact for parts of a Sinclair TV.

The company I worked for had at one time considered using the small display
tube in one of our new products. The reasons why we (the company) decided not
to use the tube are unimportant, and really has nothing to do with the display
tube itself.

The person we contacted is:

    Jim Westwood
Sinclair Research Limited
    Milton Hall
Milton, Cambridge, UK CB4 4AE
Telephone 0223 862661
Telex 817949

Hope I've got this right - apolgies if I haven't:

Clive Sinclair sold Milton Hall a year or so ago - the name "Sinclair" was
sold to Amstrad, along with Clive Sinclair's computer business. I
don't know what happened to Sinclair Research - they're no longer
in the Cambridge telephone directory. Nor do I know what happened
to the TV side of the business - perhaps another UK reader
remembers...
