Cable Wars part 72: I am a hi-fi salesman and part time student of engineering at Cal Berkeley, so when reps come in to offer their incredibly superior and unique products I usually pester them for technical data supporting their claims. Of course, my 2nd semester physics prof said that monster cable was crazy for their claims, so I got the rep to give me the official white paper on the product. He not only gave me that, but also a bunch of mag articles with lots of pretty greek writing. My major isn't physics, so it'll take me awhile to review this stuff in order to understand it. But I am very interested in some of the net's physicists' reactions to these papers. I am willing to mail (USNAIL) copies of this stuff to anyone who promises to send me replies (EMAIL or NET (although most of us are all pretty sick of cables by now, eh? ;))). No charge. Just e-mail your address to me, and it will arive within a year or so. ;) I tried showing this stuff to some grad students I met, but they told me to run along and sell walkmans.
