In a late move the FCC announced that United Parcel Service is
trying to re-open the reply period for comments on NPRM 87-14.
It seems that someone has sold U P S on the idea of an A.C.S.B.
truck-truck radio system in the 215-222 MHz band. In other words,
they were sold a bill of goods and are trying to save themselves.
If the period for reply is re-opened, (which was closed 6 months ago), then
this set a precedent for further openings-closings-openings-closings...etc.
This could cause havic in the ranks for this and all other NPRMs relating
to ham radio !!!
As a course of action, please write to the commission asking them not to
allow comments by UPS in for consideration. Also, for all you people who
mail order equipment of any kind, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE SALES PEOPLE TO
SHIP VIA UPS !!!! USE U.S MAIL, FEDERAL, FLYING TIGERS.....ETC. Maybe
this will help just a little. ..................................73
