I'm still upset with Sony after that. It also turns out that another problem with the player was a bug in the ROMs - something they KNEW abou but wouldn't fix (so what else is new?). Basically, I've done what I can to stay away from Sony since then, and I bought a Denon DCD 1500II with which I've been VERY happy and have had no problems. I'd buy a portable CD player, TV or LV player from them, but I've been scared away from their home CD players. Too bad, because some of them are pretty good players, too... -- William Kucharski ARPA: kucharsk@uts.amdahl.com UUCP: ...!{ames,decwrl,sun,uunet}!amdahl!kucharsk Disclaimer: The opinions expressed above are my own, and may not agree with those of any other sentient being, not to mention those of my employer.

Well, they fixed a bug in the KV2075 TV ROM's; turns out there's a provision in similar models of that line for a second RF input (handy for switching between cable and rabbit-ears, or switching between our 'A' and 'B' cables in Pittsburgh's two-cable system. Other Warner systems have this bug as well.) Anyway, at first all sets used same ROM, but it was soon discovered that if the set though it was receiving a 'change to RF input #2' signal from the IR remote it would switch even the the consumer couldn't connect anything to these ports. That would be pretty irritating, wouldn't it. So, if I ever try hack the 2nd RF input back into my set, I'll need to find someone with the 'buggy' ROMS. BTW, anyone know where I can get Sony Service Manuals? (and maybe parts?) Thanks. -- - Ralph W.
