I'm considering taking on a senior project (I'm majoring in Electrical and
Computer Engineering here at UCSB) consisting of interfacing a SPEX optical
spectrometer to a Mac II through some sort of D/A and Digital output board.
We need to be able to control a stepper motor from the Mac II and also read
in analog measurements after each movement of the stepper motor. We haven't
figured out which data acquisition board to use yet - that's what I'm cur-
rently investigating.
If you have any suggestions - good boards, ones to stay away from, etc. I'd
love to hear them. Please provide company contact information if possible,
and any information you might have based on actual use of the product. Also,
please respond via email. If others are interested in the results, perhaps
I can summarize and post to comp.sys.mac.programmer.
