The proper option would probably be to replace this darned thing, but that would involve outlay of $$, a substance notable by its absence from my bank account. I have an old Electrohome (Cdn made) colour TV set, probably about '74 vintage. I noticed serious picture degradation during the summer, esp. during periods of HIGH humidity, but it would generally clear up over a period of ~10 min. (Something obviously drying out). Lately, the problem has been recurring, and NOT going away. Humidity is not especially high (we're now into the Cdn heating season, and our gas furnace keeps things pretty dry). Any ideas where to look? The focus resistor comes off the 25.5kV anode line, so I'm reluctant to play there (I'm lacking in equipment and courage). My next alternative is to check for bad solder joints. Any good suggestions/ideas? The TV set is a necessity in our household: if my 2 1/2 year-old son doesn't get his Sesame Street fix, we HEAR about it... I hope this is the right forum for this...
