[sci.electronics] Need info on CD/DAT bitstream IC's

I am interested in using the bitstreams coming from CD and/or DAT
machines.  I would appreciate any info on IC's that take the output
from a CD or DAT machine and convert it into a serial bit stream
(logic levels).
