[sci.electronics] NEC datasheets

elg@killer.DALLAS.TX.US (Eric Green) (01/25/89)

My brother works for a company called CSI, which is a multimillion
dollar maker of remote telemetry equipment for oilfield and factory
applications. He reports that his boss is having trouble getting data
sheets from NEC. He tried going through their normal distributors, who
reported they couldn't get any from NEC, and he tried calling NEC
direct, which had no results (nobody ever called back). So I'm asking:
does anybody have a datasheet for the NEC V-25? It looks perfect for
their application (low-power CMOS, highly integrated, easily
solar/battery powered). The distributors apparently have the parts,
and the advertising "glossies", but they need technical info....

Data on the V-50 would also be wonderful.

As an aside, they're getting EXTREMELY peeved about the situation...
maybe it's because they're used to dealing with American semiconductor
manufacturers, which typically are overjoyed to have customers, even
small-scale ones who buy 1,000 at a time. My brother keeps grumbling
about it, even refusing to buy a NEC multisync because it's by "that"
company.

Netter A: In Hell they run VMS.
Netter B: No. In Hell, they run MS-DOS. And you only get 256k.
