i would like to have info on designing a FAX card for my IBM compatible..
does anyone out there suggest any source for hardware and software
info....

i don't want to rain on your parade, but if you are interested in
making a PC-Fax card for commercial sale, you are probably too late.
there are at least 20 manufacturers of such cards -- some of them
have succeeded in some serious cost reduction...  9600 baud versions,
with full software support, are available for $300 to $600...

if you still would like to proceed -- check out the docs for the
Rockwell fax modem chips and chipsets as well as the CCITT spec
for group 3 fax.
