I am interested in constructing my own laptop computer. Could anyone suggest where I can purchase a suitable 640 by 400 LCD screen ? I know where to get the other components I want. Thanks.

(I'm not entirely kidding: those things are not easy to find in quantity one at reasonable prices when there is no prospect of a bulk follow-on order.) You are probably better off looking for an LCD "module" that includes driver electronics.
