This is a second response to the posting on the old RCA radio. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Knowing the tubes used, does this help to date the radio? -- Generally speaking, yes. The 7 pin miniature tubes with the 1.5V -- filaments were a product of WWII. However, with the introduction of the -- transistor in 1948, their days were numbered. Subminiature tubes -- filled in for transistors in VHF/UHF applications until transistors -- caught up but even they were on the electronics scene only -- briefly (except for surplus people like me). - The street address in Holcomb would certainly be appreciated. -- The one I have is old but I'll look it up tonight and post it on -- the net tomorrow. They also have a really neat museum in Holcomb -- (not far from Rochester, NY) where you can see all kinds of old -- radios (like an arc transmitter) - bring earplugs! ***************STANDARD DISCLAIMER APPLIES******************** ______________________________________________________________ Mark Starin KB1KJ US NAVY RADIOMEN DO IT Digital Equipment Corp.
