I have never tried this on an antenna...but there is a stuff that comes in a blue spray can, simply named "plastic spray". (I think the company name is Zippo; can't remember, and the can is at home, 450 miles away). The stuff is excellent for spraying on completed circuit boards, etc. to make them a little less pervious to moisture, etc. (I'd even go so far as to say it 'waterproofs', if you spray it on thick enough). I don't see any reason you couldn't spray your antenna with something like this ... most electronics parts dealers have it. The only problems I note is: (1) dangerous fluorocarbons will deminish the ozone layer and give you skin cancer, and (2) if the stuff lands on plastic, it first softens it up, before it hardens. The plastic (or rubber) couplings between antenna elements won't look as shiny as they used to be. Good luck. (Wish me luck on my novice test, which will hopefully be within the next 2 wks!)
